One response to “Brief Meeting Summaries

  1. I attended the task force meeting last night and spoke a little about the work of NAMI locally, especially as it related to the Family to Family course of NAMI which is offered twice a year here in the County by the local chapter. The other thing that I talked about was Faith Connection which is a grassroot organization that is working to get the local faith communities interested in and aware of the presence of mentally ill people within their congregations and community. This is very hard due to the stigma that is attached to mental illness in our churches as well as within our communities. If there is anyone on the task force who is a person of faith and would like to join the adhoc monthly meetings that we have you are more than welcome. We will meet the next time at the Santa Cruz Room of St. Thomas More on Friday the 20th of March at 3:30 P.M. or in the wooden building across the parking lot.
Please feel welcome come. There is much work to do in our communities of faith to get them user-friendly to people and families of the mentally ill.
Hope to see some of you at our next meetings.
    Gove Elder
